Einst eine großartige Erfindung, liegt es uns heute in Form von Mikropartikeln schwer im Magen: Plastik. Unter dem mehrdeutigen Titel „Here to Stay“ nutzen die GlueHeads das Material als Ausgangspunkt für neue Arbeiten: Collagen, Assemblagen, Fotografien.
2014 kam eine Gruppe unabhängiger Künstler erstmals in Berlin zusammen. In Pop-up-Manier wurden am Tag gemeinsam Collagen gemacht, um am Abend ausgestellt zu werden. Später entstand daraus ein Zine, das zum nächsten Treffen veröffentlicht wurde. Initiiert durch Anelor Robin (†) entstand so zwischen 2015 und 2019 an verschiedenen Orten im In- und Ausland eine Serie von insgesamt neun „Glueheads“-Zines. 2023 präsentierten zwei von Lula Valletta kuratierte Werkschauen Arbeiten einiger der an dem Projekt beteiligten Künstler*innen; zuerst in der Verbeke Foundation in Belgien, später in der neurotitan gallery im Berliner Haus Schwarzenberg.
2025 positionieren sich die GlueHeads in Berlin neu.
„Here to Stay“ markiert den Auftakt einer neuen Serie, bei der von nun an Zine Release und Ausstellung zusammenfallen. Noch immer sind die Arbeiten der GlueHeads getragen von der Idee der Collage, sie greifen aber verstärkt auch auf andere künstlerische Verfahren aus. Verantwortlich für das Heft No. 1 und die aktuelle Ausstellung sind Niels Kalk, Caro Mantke und D.M. Nagu.

Once a celebrated invention, today it sits heavy in our stomachs in the form of microparticles: plastic. Under the ambiguous title ‘Here to Stay,’ the GlueHeads use plastic as a starting point for new works: collages, assemblages, photographs.
In 2014, a group of independent artists first came together in Berlin. In pop-up style, they created collages during the day to be exhibited in the evening. Later, this effort resulted in a zine that was released at the following meeting. Inspired by Anelor Robin (†), a series of nine ‘Glueheads’ zines were created between 2015 and 2019 at various locations in Germany and abroad. In 2023, two exhibitions curated by Lula Valletta presented works by some of the artists involved as a kind of retrospective, first at the Verbeke Foundation in Belgium and later at the neurotitan gallery in Berlin’s Haus Schwarzenberg.
In 2025, the GlueHeads are repositioning themselves in Berlin.
‘Here to Stay’ marks the start of a new series in which zine releases and exhibitions will coincide. The GlueHeads‘ works are still imbued by the idea of collage, but they also increasingly draw on other artistic processes. Niels Kalk, Caro Mantke and D.M. Nagu are responsible for issue No. 1, and for the current exhibition.
