ODE TO HERC
Live Performance

Fri 15.03. – 19 h

SoundsAbout is pleased to invite you to the Performance ‚Ode to Herc: Technology bending by Afro-Latin strategies in modern abstract music‘ by Fausto Mujica.

Developed within the project DIY Electronics, ‚Ode to Herc‘ is a multi-sampler music performance based on a year long research on Hip-Hop’s Afro-diasporic aesthetic strategies of cultural and technological appropriation. The latter is traced in the Afro/ Latin American music tradition while it represents one of the most fundamental elements of hip hop culture. Through digital sampling instrumentation, looping, re-contextualization and improvisation, the performance aims to bring on the foreground the aforementioned aesthetic strategies and re-examine their aesthetic and artistic value in the field of contemporary music and art.
