Eröffnung: Fr. 29.01.2016  –  19 Uhr
Ausstellung: Sa & So 30./31.01.2016 –  15-19 Uhr

The concept of trinity in Überdumpsterthreesome will be disrupted by a guest. The newly formed foursome of authors is standing for artistic approaches of a young generation of artists producing in Berlin while their roots and/or influences are based in the former eastern block. The incoherency of the content is balanced by the formal integrity of a certain “trash” or post-internet visuality.
A typical example of this form is the Prague-based multimedia artist Andrea Mikysková, who conceives the problem of “portraying” within the context of the picturesque moveable profile pictures of our accounts on social networks. In her installations digital faces are meditating about themselves. Tina Kult (based in Vienna and Berlin) uses stylistic devices of cartoons, to make sexualized violence a subject of discussion. She raises the question to what extent we are living in a society, where (sexual) assaults are downplayed and the victims declared as objects..The Slovakian artist Josef Pilát, based in Warsaw and in Berlin, is decomposing hopes in the transfer of our genetic information dividing it onto simple boxes and leaving us with simple IKEA-style DIY manuals. Next of this threesome, the Latvian author Jānis Dzirnieks has been invited to intervene with a site-specific video-installation.
The exhibition of the four artists is part of the project Ekvalizator – a series of collaboration of young artists from Berlin an Central East Europe. The second part of this first meeting will be a workshop dealing with the concept of “housing” in cooperation with activists from the neighbouring social housing project Pallasseum.
The project is supported by theCzech-German Future Foundation and the Czech Center Berlin.
